My dear Gent,
This is to introduce Mr. Pawley,
regarding whose application for a factory site
for the construction of aeroplanes we have had
considerable correspondence which ended with the
Secretary of State's secret telegram of 11th march.
I am glad to say that we have been able
to make considerable progress with this matter, a
site having been found which is acceptable to both
parties, and Mr. Pawley is now anxious to get on
with things. He is flying to England next week
and has asked me for a letter of introduction which
would facilitate his getting into contact with the
Air Ministry's purchasing department. Mr. Pawley
can explain better than I all that he wants to do,
and you are in a better position than I to give him
letters for the right persons. I am, therefore,
after discussing the point with him, making this his
